Yasumasa Fukushima
Commemorative Medal
福島安正記念章
Yasumasa Fukushima rode horseback from Berlin to Vladivostok in 1893. Wikipedia has a good
summary of his extraordinary life. See
HERE.

The medal itself is not an official government medal. It appears to be privately made, perhaps offered for
sale during his years of popularity. The obverse shows him alone and on horseback, no doubt being a
depiction of his journey.

The reverse reads 'Meiji 26 [1893] Fukushima Yasumasa, [??] Badge.'
