There is a map on the back but I cannot figure out what location it depicts.

Badge with a Japanese sword guard (tsuba) design. The top
suspension device has a cherry blossom design.

On the reverse: 'Showa 9 [1934] November, Imperial Guard
Division, 1st Division, 2nd Division, 14th Division. Held at
Kanto Plains.'
An Army badge with tank and fighter planes on
the obverse. The reverse shows a rifle and
automatic gun crossed, superimposed on which
is an artillery shell. Above is the Army star and
blossoms are on the sides.

Very striking design.

The insert confirms the inscription on the badge and names the material:
Silver-plated bronze. It also names the artist and badge maker: Nagagaku Beijiro;
Nagagaku-dou. The shop address and phone number is listed. The location was
Kobe.
The obverse design is that of a sword guard (tsuba) with a
Golden Kite and Army star above. Inscribed 'Field Marshall
Inspection, Army Special Manuevers Participation Badge.'
On the reverse is written 'Participating Units: 7th Division,
8th Division. Held in Hokkaido. Showa 11 [1936] Autumn.'

handmade skull (ivory?) attached.
Metal case of some sort, perhaps a shuniku (朱肉), which holds
a bed of red ink for stamps. Note that there is some greenish
rust on the edge.

well as enamel flags on the sides. The
reverse shows a Navy battleship and
planes.
